Spring Break 2010

Postby Mike » Wed Apr 07, 2010 8:22 pm

I was finally successful at getting the new Super Jack installed in my mountain home in SW Virginia. The furnace was shipped to a local HVAC operation called Spark's Enterprise run by Dallas Sparks in Pounding Mill, VA who was absolutely wonderful to deal with. He delivered it to my home, set it in place and custom built all the ductwork and dampers and installed it in parallel with my existing heat pump. My home is at 3100 feet on the mountainside so we do have some cold weather. The day we arrived for spring break it was warm and in the upper 70s. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to fire up the new furnace. Luckily, a front came through, the temperature dropped and it began to snow. I built a small first fire as suggested and in a short time it was 72 degrees in the house with several windows open. My wife and I were impressed with the quality of the furnace and how much more comfortable the house was as compared to the old wood stove. It was obvious that I will need to cut my firewood much larger in the future. I must say that the entire experience was positive. Thanks for everything Keith and all involved. Mike
