What kind of wood burner do you have now

I find that many folks are happy with what they have in the form of a stove or something else that burns wood, coal or pellets.
I also find that they are loading many times a day ,3-4 hours on average.
Some are running stoves to try to heat the whole home and struggling...there is a better way.

Look at you stove or furnace.
Does it have a massive heat exchanger or is it just a firebox?
Does it have a firebox loaded with thick dense firebrick for thermal mass?
Does it have a way to cycle the burn rate and a draft regulator to elevate the draft speed?
Lastly and most importantly, does it have a way to burn off the smoke making those extra btus available to you?

I know 150,000,000 people went to some sort of alternative way to heat last year with oil over $140 a barrel.
Some had old stoves or furnaces installed that they got back into service ,other bought something they saw at a local FleetFarm ....others went for aesthetics from a stove shoppe.

Does your furnace or stove do what you really need it to do?

I am currently using an outdoor boiler.. I use way more wood than I need to use.. My house has a heat loss of 26,000 btu per hour. 3200 square feet.
My house has radiant tubing poured into the concrete slab. My main heating source is a Bock 32 gallon oil fired water heater. Using a coil heat exchanger. The oil burner heated my home very well. But my local oil man and myself parted ways 3 years ago.And I told him where to shove it.. That is when I decided to heat with wood.(plus the fact we had our property logged and that left many tops going to waste.)
I really want a wood fired boiler in my mechanical room.Located within my garage. Now just to find the right boiler for my setup. I am not really interested in a gasification type unit..To many things to go wrong in my opinion.I prefer something with secondary burn and possibly a forced draft.

We used to make them as you know Eric and have one in a prototype stage waiting to be tested.
