Need Help! Just wondering and need to know fast. Is there a way to fix a -- in the fire box or is it a loss. Please advise thnak you.

A split or tear in a firebox indicates that it has been heated too hot.
It needs to be replaced.

Yes and no. The firebox is put together at the factory by welding so it can be repaired by welding, however I would not recommend it. I just replaced the firebox in mine after 30 years of service. Its not that hard to do either. I have a write-up going in here about it with pics if it would be any help to you. Also if something happens say a fire, they will look at that furnace and see the -- and the repair and probably reject your claim.
