Check your Pot Liner Regularly!!!

Check your Pot Liner Regularly!!!

Postby bill » Thu Dec 12, 2013 8:32 pm

Please.. If you own an Eagle1/Husky or Eagle2/Polar check the condition of your pot liner on a regular basis. The owners manual says it should be checked on a monthly basis during the heating season and replaced as necessary.

Every year I talk to people that have a 5,6,7 year old furnace that has a cracked heat exchange because that liner was never checked and allowed to fail.

The pot liner sells for $82.61 or $108.18 depending on if you have the Husky or the Polar.

A new heat exchanger is $1652.31 or $2969.22 :!:

Thanks,

Bill :ugeek:

Bill, You are talking about the pyrolite liner where the oil burner is. Correct?

What do you look for. Cracking. I do not use more then 20 gallons of oil per season. What causes the failures.

Youre looking for deep cracking that goes all the way to the steel, broken chunks, or if you run your fingers across it disintegrating in your fingers.. The failure usually is caused by a combination of careless wood loading and the burner blasting up to a 2000 degree flame through that combustion chamber.
