It gets quite cold here in Minnesota. I use this simple rule of thumb for Minnesota climate: 35 BTU's per square foot of home or 8 to 10 Watts of electric power per square foot of home. This translates to 105,000 BTU for a 3000 square foot home or 3000 watts (30 Kilowatts KW). You can adjust this up...

Easy way to adjust the belt tension - I advise "just take up the slack" so that the belt is not pulling the motor down against it's resilient mount. :D
